Sanaa Lathan did an interview with Soul Culture TV (2009) while in London doing Broadway (Cat on a Hot Tin Roof) and she spoke about how there's a little bit of her in every character. She talks about not being afraid to take roles not written for black women, how she doesn't really enjoy watching herself on film, how doing theater is more immediately fulfilling and how she wants to continue to challenge herself as an actress.
