Lauryn Hill's Awesome Comeback at Rock the Bells [VIDEO]

Now whoever taped the video below must have been right in front of the speakers because the sound quality isn't all that great, but you can still tell that Lauryn rocked it hard recently at Rock the Bells in California. This was her first U.S. appearance after a summer of European warm-up appearances. According to lots of Youtube evidence, Lauryn looked and sounded great, and was very well received. Her fans are so ready for her, myself included. She has a couple more dates scheduled for New York and D.C.

Actor Michael Ealy is Back on the Scene...

Michael Ealy went missing for a while, but now he's back and he's joining the hit television series "The Good Wife" where he will play Derrick Bond, the head of the Washington, D.C. firm that is merging with the floundering Lockhart & Gardner. Michael's casting breakdown for "The Good Wife" describes the character as a casual and soft-spoken attorney who believes all people should be treated equally.

Oh wait... How did that pic get there?! lol. This is a pic from a wedding where Michael and I served as best man (to his best friend) and matron of honor (to my cousin) a few years back.
Fun times...

Michael also stars in the upcoming movie "Takers" which also stars T.I., Idris Elba, Hayden Christensen, Matt Dillon, Paul Walker, Zoe Saldana and Chris Brown. The movie is about a notorious group of criminals who continue to confuse police by pulling off perfectly executed bank robberies. Can't wait to check this one out. Check out the trailer below:

"Inception" Wins the Weekend Box Office...

Leonardo DiCaprio and Christopher Nolan's "Inception" is anything but a sleeper as the thriller opened big with $60.4 million and a No. 1 finish at the weekend box office, according to studio estimates Sunday.

The Warner Bros. action tale about a team that sneaks into people's dreams is DiCaprio's biggest opening weekend, topping his previous best of $41.1 million for last winter's "Shutter Island." I saw the movie this past weekend and quite enjoyed it. I thought it was a fresh approach on a movie plot. Very imaginative. Not that predictable. I've seen it referred to on Twitter as "the thinking man's movie" I can agree with that. It was an entertaining psychological thriller.

Estimated ticket sales for Friday through Sunday at U.S. and Canadian theaters, according to Hollywood.com. Final figures will be released Monday.

1. "Inception," $60.4 million.

2. "Despicable Me," $32.7 million.

3. "The Sorcerer's Apprentice," $17.4 million.

4. "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse," $13.5 million.

5. "Toy Story 3," $11.7 million.

6. "Grown Ups," $10 million.

7. "The Last Airbender," $7.5 million.

8. "Predators," $6.8 million.

9. "Knight and Day," $3.7 million.

10. "The Karate Kid," $2.2 million.

Denzel Washington & Viola Davis Win Tony's for "Fences"

Viola Davis, winner of the Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Play award for her work in "Fences" and Denzel Washington, winner of the award for Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Play for his work, also in "Fences," posed at the American Theatre Wing's 64th annual Tony Awards ceremony in New York, June 13, 2010.

"Fences," a revival of August Wilson's deeply personal drama about family, won for best revival of a play. Its two stars, Washington and Viola Davis, won for best actors in a play. Even their acceptance speeches seemed to complement each other.

"My mother always says, `Man gives the award, God gives the reward.' I guess I got both tonight," Denzel Washington said after winning for his performance as the sanitation man who might have been a baseball star.

"I don't believe in luck or happenstance. I absolutely believe in the presence of God in my life," said Viola Davis, honored for playing Washington's all-sacrificing wife. "It feels like such a divine experience eight times a week." Congratulations to both of them. See a complete list of 2010 Tony Winners HERE.
