Royally sugared peacock in Asylum

Hola!

My sugarpill babies came home today!

Let me introduce you to Asylum and Royal Sugar Loose eyeshadows:

Here's the size comparison between MAC pigment jar and Sugarpill jars:

Sugarpill 5g / .18oz - MAC 4,3g / .15oz

Asylum:
Asylum is really pretty metallic red with red tiny glitter.

Royal Sugar:
I love it. Matte "true blue" with light blue glitters.
It's likeMAC's old Royal Blue pigment and MAC Reflects Transparent Teal made a baby!

Swatches:

They are bot supergorgeous shades, but there's one BUT in Asylum.
It's this:
It's really super close dupe of TKB Hot Mama, Pure Luxe OMG, BftE Addicted, Lime Crime Siren... and all the other companies that sell the same red.
I'm not saying it's repacked. I'm just saying that it's really close dupe.

Can you tell the difference?

Anyway, this is minor detail for me, 'cos I love that red, and I only had samples of it before, so I'm still happy :D But if you already own a full-size dupe of this, I guess you don't need this one.

But check out how awesome Royal Sugar looks over deep purple base:
Like wow, true, pure LOVE!

Then finally a look I made with Sugarpill, using Royal Sugar, Poison Plum, Starling, Buttercupcake and Lumi:

Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy (primer)
Sugarpill Buttercupcake (inner corner)
Sugarpill Royal Sugar (lid, above Poison Plum, lower lashline)
Sugarpill Starling (crease)
Sugarpill Poison Plum (above starling)
Sugarpill Lumi (highlight)
Gosh Extreme Art eyeliner (upper lashline)
MSCHIC Peacock Eye Stain (waterline)
Upper lashes by Bodytalk, customed with black feathers
Lower lashes by Grimas
Rhinestones from ebay

I didn't take photo's of my LOTD, 'cos I was hurry to get on the beach :D

WE HAVE A WINNER!

And the WINNER IS...

JENN LAM!!!
The first to send in a complete contest entry and Hip Candy's youngest winner to date!

I would love this little black dress, it is a staple in anyone's wardrobe! I would wear this beauty with a single diamond drop so i don't take away from the dress. I would wear some simple silver bangles on my arm and nude pumps. My hair would be in loosely tousled waves and i would have a dramatic silvery smokey eye with nude glossed lips. To add a touch of color i might use a deep plum blush on my higher cheekbones lightly. It would be such a simple but sophisticated look. ~Jenn Lam

Undercurrent = L O V E

Heeeeeelllllloo!

I'm so happy right now!

No, I didn't yet get my Sugarpill order, but I got something else.
Some of you might remember my rant about MAC "must-have-now" pencil Undercurrent from MAC's Art Supplies collection.
Unfortunately the collection NEVER arrived to Finland, so I've been searching that pencil online since I found the swatch from Temptalia.

Well anyway, last thursday I checked out Marlena's closet clearance from MUG Store, and what did my eyes see? The fraking Undercurrent! I did my order faster than wind, and it arrived to me already!

Here it is, by dear dear baby, which by way is just as cool and awesome and lovely as I expected:

And of course I had to use it right away, I wanted it to show, so I used Sensai's eye loose powder, and a hint of Ben Nye's Turquiose:

That's all this time.

EDIT: Check out my Brazil tutorial from my MSCHIC blog:

2010 BET Awards: The Good & The Blah.

I have to admit, the 2010 BET Awards were some of their best work yet. I know. Shocking. But the show was actually pretty good for the most part. Some of the most notable performances for me was Monica singing her song "Everything To Me" which has seriously grown on me because I didn't even like the song at first. And Monica's vocals get stronger everytime I hear her sing. She's definitely a talent. Even if her fashion sense is a little out there. Click READ MORE HERE for more pics and commentary below:

When Monica brought out Deniece Williams, I have to admit, I kinda lost it! Ok BET. I see you. They both sang Deniece's hit "Silly" and even though Deniece was a little shaky, it was still awesome to see her performing. Other notable performances was Usher, Eminem rocked his set, Chris Brown's tribute to Michael Jackson, El DeBarge taking the stage (What?!) the Prince lifetime achievement tribute, and I was kinda shocked that I liked the Diddy Dirty Money set. But it was pretty cool IMO.

It was fabulous to see Nia Long and Larenz Tate together again (Love Jones) after all these years. Their chemistry is still like... WHOA.

What wasn't I feeling? Nicki Minaj and her lip synching, Drake, Keisha Cole's blonde mullet wig (like the song, hated that hair) and Trey Songz even though I thought it was cute that he brought his mom. And Kanye... and it's not that I wasn't feeling Kanye (he opened the show) but so much other stuff happened after his set, I just kinda forgot that he even made an appearance. That's about all I have on this awards show. And like I said, overall it was pretty entertaining this year, I really enjoyed myself watching. And I know I'm usually down on Debra Lee, and hopefully I'm not speaking too soon, but I think she and the BET network may finally be starting to hit their stride.

2010 BET Awards: Chris Brown's Controversial MJ Tribute...

Chris Brown did a tribute to Michael Jackson on the one year anniversary of his death during the 2010 BET Awards, and I must say, dude did a good job IMHO. Jermaine Jackson introduced him as "the person who could do this tribute who hasn't done it yet" Click READ MORE HERE for more pics, VIDEO of Chris Brown's MJ tribute and my 2 cents below:

The controversy came when Chris got emotional while attempting to perform "Man in the Mirror" he started crying and could barely get through the song. I've been on a couple message boards since the awards and people are split. Watch the vid below:

Jermaine Jackson hugging Chris Brown immediately after the tribute.

And here's my two cents. Unless you are not of this world and here visiting from another universe, then you already know all about Chris Brown's crime. No need to go into it again other than to say it was a horrendous occurrence, it was violent and shameful and it should have never happened. That being said, how long do you hold something like this over someone's head? Is Chris Brown never to be forgiven for what he did? How long is long enough to hold someone in contempt of a crime such as the one Chris Brown committed? Do people not deserve a 2nd chance to prove themselves and make things right? I realize it's the popular thing to be all incredulous and hate on Chris Brown into infinity. And even though I initially got upset about all the shade people were throwing on Chris behind this performance, I can't speak for anyone else, so I won't. But me, myself? I'm over it. Chris said that he knows he let his fans down in the past, and he vowed not to ever do it again, and as far as I'm concerned, I'm taking him at his word. He has a 2nd chance, at least he does with me (as a fan), to prove he's a stand up dude.
